• PennyDrop was throwing away the page it had just drawn and building the whole thing again the moment you opened it — a wasted flicker on every visit, and slowest on the older phones that could least afford it. It now opens once and gets on with it.
• The cause: anything dated — days until payday, the seasonal nudge, the weekday strip — was worked out when the app was last published rather than when you opened it, so the two disagreed. Dates are now read from your device, when you look.

Added

• Spending history. PennyDrop now compares this period against the last six — fairly, at the same stage of the month, so a half-finished month is never held against a whole one. It'll also tell you your quietest period so far.
• One headline insight on the Today tab, so the good stuff isn't hiding on the Brain tab: what's over, what's due, whether you're ahead of last month.
• “The usual?” — the things you log again and again are now one tap, and every ledger row has a repeat button. Typing “Tesco big shop” for the fortieth time is over.
• Tick bills off as they leave your account, with a running total of what's still to go. Resets itself every payday.
• The British money calendar: Christmas countdowns with a weekly figure, the January reality check, April's new tax year and council tax, heating season meter readings, and a warning weeks before any yearly bill auto-renews.
• Round-ups — spend £4.60 and 40p goes to a goal. A coin jar, but digital and honest.
• Deal Hunter remembers when you last sorted each bill and nags you about a year later, which is exactly when providers bank on you forgetting.
• Share a read-only snapshot with your other half. The figures ride inside the link itself, which browsers never send to a server — so still nothing of yours touches the internet.

• The ledger is grouped by month and properly sorted by date, which matters now that spends can be backdated.

• A clear notice when you're looking at the example budget, with a one-tap “Clear it and start fresh” — handy once the app is installed and there's no easy way to wipe it from the browser.
• This changelog, so you can see what's changed without taking our word for it.
• Sausages, pork chops and frozen veg joined the Fridge Raider, bringing eleven new dinners with them: sausage & mash, toad in the hole, sausage casserole, pork schnitzel, one-pan pork chop & rice, a chicken traybake and more.
• Cooking temperatures on every recipe — oven dishes give conventional, fan and gas mark, hob steps say what heat to use, and anything with chicken or pork tells you the 75°C it needs to hit in the middle.

• Clearing the example data is instantly undoable, in case that was a mis-tap.
• One chip per ingredient now — “spuds” and “cheddar” had their own chips next to potatoes and cheese, which was just clutter. Typing them still works perfectly.

• PennyDrop can call you by name, and says good morning, afternoon or evening like a civilised app.
• Other regular income — pensions, Universal Credit, Child Benefit, PIP, maintenance, a steady side hustle. Wages aren't the whole story for most households.
• One-off money in: sold something on Facebook, got a refund, birthday money. It lands in the ledger and lifts what's left till payday.
• Fuel is now its own thing — its own spending category, its own Fuel Gauge, and its own section in Deal Hunter with a proper playbook (you can't haggle a petrol station, but you can absolutely spend less at one).
• Bills can be quarterly or yearly, not just monthly. Water and car insurance get spread across the months so the renewal never ambushes you.
• Savings goals can have a “need it by” date, and we'll tell you what that works out to a week.
• Search your ledger once it gets long, and log a spend for a day that isn't today.
• A gentle nudge to back up if it's been a month — nothing's in the cloud, so a lost phone is a lost budget.

• Deleting anything can now be undone.
• The quip ticker pauses when you hover or focus it, so you can finish reading one.
• Four more quips, because we enjoyed writing them.

• It tells you honestly what you've got and what you'd still need, rather than suggesting a recipe and quietly assuming you own the rest.
