The short version: we collect the minimum we need to reply to you and do the work you ask us to do. We don't run advertising trackers, we don't sell data, and we don't send you marketing you didn't ask for.

Who we are

No Fear Tech Ltd is a UK web & software studio, registered in England & Wales and based in Norfolk. For anything in this policy, contact hello@nofeartech.com. We are the "data controller" for the personal data described here.

What we collect, and why

• Enquiries & live chat — when you use our contact form, AI enquiry checker or live chat, we collect your name, email address and the message you send, so we can reply. Lawful basis: legitimate interest (responding to your enquiry).
• Call & visit bookings — when you book time with us, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, and (for in-person visits) the address to visit. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
• Client records — if you become a client we hold the contact, project, agreement and billing information needed to deliver the work and meet our legal obligations (e.g. accounting records). Lawful bases: contract and legal obligation.
• Technical logs — our hosting provider records basic request logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability. Lawful basis: legitimate interest (keeping the site secure).
• Visit statistics — we count page visits with our own cookie-free analytics: page viewed, referring site, country and device type, aggregated. No cookies, nothing stored on your device, and your IP address is never stored (it's used transiently to derive a one-way daily code for counting unique visitors, then discarded). Browsers sending Do Not Track are not counted at all. Lawful basis: legitimate interest (understanding how the site is used). Full detail on our Cookies page.

We do not collect special-category data, and we do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal effects on you.

AI features, honestly explained

Our enquiry checker and live chat use an AI model (provided by Anthropic) to understand your message and draft a useful response. The text you type is sent to that provider to generate the reply; it isn't used to build advertising profiles. A human — Kevin — reads and handles every real enquiry.

Who we share data with

Only service providers who help us run things, under contract, and only what they need:

Resend	Sends our email (booking confirmations, invoices, replies).
Anthropic	Powers the AI enquiry checker and live chat responses.
Stripe	Processes card payments — we never see or store card numbers.
Google Fonts	Delivers this site's typefaces (your IP address is disclosed to Google when fonts load).
Postcodes.io	Looks up booking postcodes so we can plan travel to in-person visits.

Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards (such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses). We never sell personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

How long we keep things

• Enquiries that go nowhere — up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Client records — for the length of our engagement, then as required by UK tax and company law (typically 6 years for financial records).
• Signed agreements — kept as a legal record of the contract.
• Email suppression list — if you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a "do not contact" list so we never email you again. That's the one thing we keep forever, in your favour.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to: access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. Email hello@nofeartech.com and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), though we'd appreciate the chance to sort it directly first.
